1. One may declare themselves protectors of another if the other agrees
to this arrangement In the roleplay. This protector is responsible for the safety of the other from attack from others.
2. One that is under protection should not initiate combat. This act will void protection and break the blood ties between the two. They may defend if attacked only - never initiate.
3. If one initiates combat with one under protection, said combat will be
held with the protector first and resolved before the protected is targeted.
--------------The Champions--------------
Champions are people who represent an entire Guild, or Faction.
They become this by having the highest in the point system for more than a 3 month period.
1. If challenged or provoked however, one may have another conduct combat for the challenged or provoked party/clan/guild etc.. This person will be designated the champion of the party/guild/clan etc. involved.
2. A champion is not a protector, they are a surrogate combatant only. They have no other responsibility than to fight for their Guild or Faction.
3. Before combat, all parties must agree the use of a champions to be involved. At the end of the combat, if the champion loses, the party that designated the champion is responsible for fulfilling the terms of the duel EXCEPT death.
--------------Seconds. Free of All Battles, and Tournaments-----------
1. A challenged or challenging party has the right to have one othe person stand with them during the DUEL (A battle between two opponents). This person shall be designated the second.
2. Seconds shall be designated and announced prior to combat. (For Tournaments it’s done the same way for the Third, Fourth, Etc. - an order in which everyone will participate and who they will oppose.)
3. The Second shall act as witness to the combat to ensure fairness for their combatant (This is for Duels only). They will not interfere with the battle unless treachery is detected. (In tournaments there will be the council present to ensure fairness)
a. Treachery shall be trickery in combat or multiple combatants attacking against the primary combatant.
4. The second may not initiate combat if his/her party falls unless challenge given and accepted for a new combat.
----------------Duels for Cause--------------
1. This is a duel designated for a specific gain for one party or the other.
2. Duels for cause should have at least one witness present throughout the entire duration of the combat.
3. Duels for cause should have a Proctor present. The Proctor shall be agreed upon by both combatants prior to the duel. If acceptance is not verbalized, actual engagement in combat shall be considered implied consent.
4. The Proctor shall record the combat and keep score by whatever rules both combatants agree upon. The Proctor will designate the victor at the conclusion of combat. The Proctor's decision is absolute and binding on all participants.
5. A combatant has the right to challenge the outcome of their combat and request a review for outside influences and technical errors. In the event that such aberrations are discovered, the Proctor's decision may be invalidated or reversed.
6. The combatants will agree to the terms and conditions of the duel before combat begins. The Proctor should announce these stipulations (once agreed upon) to everyone present. The Proctor shall ask for verbal agreement from both combatants. If formal agreement is not given at that time, engagement in the initiative phase (or beginning the combat, if no initiative is taken) shall be considered to be implied consent.
--------------Death Matches--------------
- is dueling resulting in the death of one’s character or of their combatants. All DM’s On Anesidora - shall adhere to these guidelines.
A. Before a DM can be declared you and the opponent must go to an OOC area with a witness and discuss the terms of battle. (The rp from that specific point in which you are about to engage the opponent in a DM should be place on hold until both parties agree to the terms and the witness is there to verify the terms in which were agreed upon.- This includes but is not limited to: Stating the RP rule set you will use for battle, if people are able to jump into aid in the DM or not - And if the RPC will remain permanently dead or if they can be revived, and if so, how long until the rpc is able to be resurrected, PLUS if the rpc’s spirit will be playable (meaning the player is able to play their rpc as a lost soul among the realm of Anesidora) if the rpc dies. (Some of these rules should be used for all types of engagement.)
B. A Death Match requires that at least one witness be present for the entire duration of the combat - And 3 judges at all times (One judge for each opponent and a third party judge).
C. A Death Match requires the presence of a third party as a Proctor. The Proctor shall record the combat and keep rules both combatants agree upon.
---------------Death--------------
1. Death ends the life of a person in Anesidora, unless it is found
possible to perform a resurrection upon the departed soul (it must be a highly detailed post and have a drastic repercussion on the healer). Once a person dies, the soul can be resurrected within three irl days. A chat log must be presented stating day of death. EST will be used to track time. The deceased will roleplay as a spirit wandering the land. Spirits cannot communicate with the living orally or physically, but can interact with the environment or immerse themselves in dreams to allow others knowledge of their presence. The atmosphere within Anesidora, allows newly deceased souls to be placed within it's respective body due to it's anomalies. The person resurrecting the will be given rights to the soul, allowing the character to be under his/her dominion unless the ressurector chooses to relinquish this dominion. If resurrection is not fulfilled during the time limit, the soul is then recycled to fuel the dying universe and the rpc will be lost. Souls cannot be forcefully resurrected; without an agreement, this will be considered power-play.
Soul Eating-
One can only eat the soul of one whose rpc has been killed by them (if they are a soul eater) and has stated such at the beginning of the battle/engagement - This is considered fair play. HOWEVER; the soul eater can never play the dead player (if they have the abilities to summon the soul back on the field in another battle) The original player will be the one who plays the soul of that character and that characters abilities in the battle.
-------------Assassination-----------
1. There are no accepted guidelines for assassination in Anesidora.
Assassination attempts are to be viewed as duels for cause with a heavily built storyline around the battle as to how it was even possible to perform an assassination of the roleplayers rpc (everything must be taken into consideration and the overall rp must be reviewed by three judges and the AWC before it's stated a success.) So in other words you may attempt to assassinate someone in their sleep - but the person who is about to be assassinated has the right to wake up and duel you on spot. (Assassinations are only reviewed there is no need for agreement upon terms of an assassination - UNLESS the assassination is planned for storyline purposes by the person being assassinated and the assassinator. )
--------------Resurrection--------------
1. Resurrection is the return from death of a slain individual. Death may be due to combat loss or some other tragic circumstance.
2. Resurrection after combat death is never automatic if it’s agreed on by combatants prior to combat, the person being resurrected must wait 4 irl days (Day 1-to be resurrected - Day 2 - rp out their soul being contacted and found- Day 3. The soul and body finding themselves. Day 4- Coming back alive)
--------------Resurrection Process--------------
1. To be resurrected from a combat loss, the victor must agree to the terms of resurrection in addition to the resurrected.
2. Generally, resurrection terms are negotiated by an independent third party. Terms may be anything agreeable to all concerned but generally involve an exchange of services or status.
3. When successful resurrection negotiations have been concluded, a letter shall be sent to everyone concerned to reflect the resurrection and its terms.
